No, that’s not an admission of lack of cool, but the exciting premise of an evening’s entertainment at the Edge Nightclub in Luton. Mike won’t be alone, there will be other performers of written, spoken and musical work. All under the intriguing title of
Dixie Fried – A beatnik night!
The organisers describe it as…
an off the wall night of beatnikkery and hepcat havoc. We’ll be celebrating the talent of local emerging and established writers, poets, and musicians with an open mic session from 9PM onwards, followed by an evening of smokey jazz and trippy psych with DJ sets from local cool cats Lupo and the hippest shop in town, Shop 33.
If that’s not enough, there will also be a Vintage Clothes and Records sale, as well as a selection of work available from the writers of Luton Haiku and Clod Magazine, which recently made its way into the Tate Modern!
