Inventing alien worlds is a fun game for all the family, including the dog, robo-hoover, autochef, and child-friendly nandroid. Douglas Thompson's 'Entanglement' is really just the interstellar travel guidebook to get you started on planet-inventing of your own. Why not have a go here on this forum? Let us know your ideas for ludicrious alien worlds? Only yesterday we saw a diamond planet on the news (done that!), and today a planet orbited by 4 stars (whacky!). Here's the recipe: just think of some trait of current human behaviour that you find laughable and irritating then devise an alien world that takes the same principle way too far and... bingo! -You have a cutting parody of contemporary society on your hands, or is it just a dangerous sphere of volatile chemicals about to burn a hole through your trousers? And remember folks, always get your parents permission before building an alien planet and to put down a lot of newspaper. 8-) Terms and conditions apply.
